What if there were more behind every booking than just a trip? Personal data, access, and a digital trust that artificial intelligence is putting to the test. That was the starting point of our participation in Hosteltur TV, where we discussed how AI is transforming the tourism sector.
Gabriel Buades, our Founder and CTO, took part in a Hosteltur TV panel discussion on the impact of artificial intelligence on tourism.

Artificial intelligence is already changing the way people look for information about their destinations, and it could become a new channel for booking and buying travel. A change of this magnitude requires the sector to adapt and take advantage of the opportunities it offers, without losing sight of the fact that AI can also make mistakes and that its information must be checked.
The panel covered four areas: tourism distribution, employment, data protection, and the consumer experience. In each of them, the speed of technological change presents both opportunities and uncertainties.
From Soffid, we brought the perspective of digital identity to the debate. Every booking involves personal data, credentials, and access that circulate between agencies, platforms, hotels, and payment providers, and AI adds new players and new ways of accessing that information.
That is why we argued that artificial intelligence doesn’t only change how we travel; it changes how data, access, and digital trust are managed. Knowing who accesses what, with which permissions, and with what traceability is the foundation for the sector to innovate without putting its customers at risk.
The program brought together legal, technological, and industry perspectives:
The format also included three short informational segments presented by Javier Soriano (CEO of Connectycs), Fran Montoya (Expansion Director at Travelgate), and Daniel Olabarria (lawyer at Buades Legal).
We thank Hosteltur and its director and editor, Manuel Molina Espinosa, for the opportunity to take part, and the other panelists for sharing their vision and judgment on a transformation that is already underway.
