Soffid at the 2026 Trends Forum “Cybersecurity & AI”: Identity isn’t just another layer. It’s the control point.

For years, cybersecurity was described as a wall: protecting the perimeter, fortifying the network, locking the doors.

But that world no longer exists.

Today, organizations operate in hybrid, multicloud, distributed, and connected environments with dozens of applications, users, providers, and systems. The attack surface has grown. Threats are faster. And artificial intelligence is changing the rules of the game.

In this new landscape, the question is no longer just how to protect the infrastructure.

The question is: Do we really know who is accessing what?

On May 20, Soffid sponsored the 2026 Trends Forum “Cybersecurity & AI,” organized by the @aslan Association at the 5-star Eurostars Madrid Tower Hotel, an event focused on the major challenges of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cyberresilience that will shape the immediate future of organizations.

Identity as the control point

Gabriel Buades, Founder and CTO of Soffid, participated in the expert panel “Identity Management as the Foundation of IT Security,” alongside other industry professionals.

His presentation highlighted an increasingly clear reality: as the perimeter blurs, identity becomes the new control point.

Because behind every access request lies a critical decision.

A person. An application. A vendor. A privileged account

And that’s where identity management stops being a technical layer and becomes a strategic component of security, control, and resilience.

Less noise. More control.

The 2026 Trends Forum also addressed the role of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity: how it can accelerate defense, improve detection, and give organizations the ability to respond to increasingly sophisticated threats.

But technology alone is not enough.

For an organization to be truly resilient, it needs visibility, governance, and the ability to act before risk escalates. It needs to bring order to complexity. To govern the fragmented. To make access traceable, controllable, and auditable.

That is the vision we share at Soffid: to simplify the complex so that security is not a hindrance, but a foundation from which to operate with control.

A place to share a vision

The Trends 2026 Forum is part of the @aslan Association’s Trends 2026 Series, an initiative that brings together companies, experts, and IT leaders to identify the major challenges of digitalization and cybersecurity.

For Soffid, participating in this event has been an opportunity to exchange perspectives with professionals who are tackling the same challenges within their organizations and to reinforce a key idea:

Identity is no longer just another element within a security strategy.

This is where control begins.

Thank you to the @aslan Association for creating a space where the conversation about cybersecurity goes beyond trends and addresses real-world problems.
